Soccer

Well this afternoon we all ate good old grilled cheese sandwiches and rushed out of the house for the first big game! of course I would love to show you pictures but apparently after one birthday party the battery could not hold up. SO we are going to pretend that next game is her "first game". really it seems appropriate all things considered. at 12:30 after enjoying the world quickest lunch we hopped in the car and drove to the fields, today the temp. was around 102! so me and my pregnant self was sweating before we even got there, but still excited for the big game. once there mike went off to the info booth to find out where to play and anything else a coach might need to know =) I put on ya yas stuff and we found our selfs an o.k spot among the very little shade out there and Jackson had almost fallen asleep by the time the game started. My livy was a doll! her, and her pink sweat band with a green uniform.... it was awesome! she did really well too! the first few minutes were a battle with her shoe, which much to her dismay, kept coming off! even with her frantically waving at the coach for help, and not getting noticed, she finally figured out how to put it on by her self. THEN I saw it happen! her little competivitve self kicked in. she started going after the ball, after a few attemps, she sucedeed in stealing the ball getting it turned around and headed for the goal- she almost got there, but went out of bounds! it was a proud mommy moment! I knew she could do this, and I did't even feel the need to bribe her or pay her off the way I heard other parents doing at the game. At half time confusion broke out with the lack of a half time snack and a fire starting along the river bottoms. we were the feild clostest to the fire and therefore in the immediate danger of a rapidly growing brush fire! the other coach decided even though none of the other....(50?) teams on the feilds were calling it a game, that we should. The poor " kids lungs" should not have to endure that. ( ues that was sarcastic) SO we all quickly evacuated with poor Joel from our team chasing his team mates to give them a capri sun and rice crispie treat! By the time we were over the bridge and looking down at the field, we could see our field was the only one empty and the fire was more then under control, it was out. so today shouldn't be her first game...becuase she only played half. BUT over all it was fun and she really enjoyed it- especially the part when we got home and took off her gear and she could lay down on the cold floor and relax....that was my favorite part too!
